Bringing Home the Medals!
In our seven year history, Maryland Titan athletes have brought home an astonishing total of 120 Junior Olympic medals from the USATF Junior Olympics and the AAU Junior Olympics — 14 medals in 2005, 13 medals in 2006, 15 medals in 2007, 20 medals in 2008, 34 medals in 2009, 17 medals in 2010, and 7 medals in 2011! Congratulations to the Following Maryland Titans 2011 Junior Olympic Participants!
Five Titans brought home a total of 7 medals - representing four top-eight finishes in individual and relay events - from the 2011 AAU Junior Olympics in New Orleans.
Special congratulations to our national finalists: Olivia Ekpone winning the silver in the Young Women's 200m dash and the bronze medal in the 100m dash; Gwen Shaw placing 5th in the Intermediate girls 400m hurdles, and the Young Women's 4x400m relay who brought home the silver medals.

Titans Bring Home Two National Championships; 17 Medals Total
Congratulations to the Following Maryland Titans 2010 Junior Olympic Participants!
Fifteen Titans brought home a total of 17 medals - representing 8 top-eight finishes in individual and relay events - from the 2010 AAU Junior Olympics at Norfolk State University.
Special congratulations to our national champions: Brionne Pyles in the sub-midget girls 80m Hurdles, and the youth girls 4x100m relay team of Kennedy Knight, Kaleigh Winner, Kendra Meredith, and Alexia Mitchell. Silver medals went to Mia-Irene Gyau in the midget girls 1500m run and Olivia Ekpone in the young women's 400m dash. Mia-Irene and Olivia also won bronze medals in the midget 800m run and the young women's 200m dash, respectively.

Congratulations to the Following Maryland Titans 2008 Junior Olympic Participants!
The Maryland Titans Intermediate Boys 4x400 relay team made up of George Chambers, Hassan Dixon, Cortlandt Harris and Marquis Woodyard won the National Championship with a time of 3:19.15 at the 2008 AAU Junior Olympics in Detroit on August 2. Fourteen Titans took home a total of 20 medals, representing top-eight finishes in individual and relay events.

Titans Dominate at Maryland State Championships
Titan athletes were everywhere at the Maryland State Outdoor Track Championships at Morgan State University May 22-24, capturing state titles, setting state records, and placing among the best of the best in the four state classifications.
In the 1A classification, Olivia Durr placed 1st in the 100mH, with a 1A state record time of 14.74. She also finished 1st in the 300mH (24.15), and ran on the Poolesville High School 5th place 4x400 team. Karissa Harris finished 5th in the 100m (12.77), 5th in the 400m (59.08) and ran on the Poolesville 4x400 team. Jenny Reid finished 8th in the 1600m (5:29.66), 9th in the 3200m (12:22.73), and ran on Poolesvilles 2nd place 4x800 team.
In the 2A classification, Avery Graham of Clarksburg finished 1st in the 100m (11.10), 7th in the 200m (22.56), 1st place in shot put (48 9), and ran on Clarksburgs 10th place 4x200 team. Mark Small finished 5th in the 100m (11.28), 5th in the 200m (22.24), 5th in the 400m (50.12), and ran on Clarksburgs 4th place 4x400 team. Myles Daughtry finish 9th in the 400m (50.70), and ran on Clarksburgs 4x200 and 4x400 teams. Nana Langa of Clarksburg placed 10th in the 300mH (49.16), and ran on the schools 7th place girls 4x400 team and 5th place 4x800 team.
In the 3A classification, Sam Weeks of Damascus placed 9th in the 300mH (41.68), 11th in the 110mH (16.38), and ran on Damascuss 6th place 4x100 team.
In the 4A classification, Olivia Ekpone of Wootton took 1st place in the 100m (11.77), 200m (24.15), and 400m (54.18), and ran on Woottons 4th place 4x200 team. Katie Wolf of Churchill placed 3rd in the 100m (12.10), 7th in the 300mH (47.97), and 7th in the 200m (25.12), and ran on Churchills 5th place 4x400 team. Caleb Malone of Quince Orchard finished 5th in the 100mH (15.24) and 7th in the 300mH (40.62), and Marquis Woodyard of Gov. Thomas Johnson finished 7th in the 400m (51.03).

Titans Win Big at Maryland HS Indoor Meets
Three Titan athletes Olivia Ekpone, Jenny Reid, and Avery Graham won state titles at the recent Maryland State Indoor Track Championships, while other Titans were among the top finishers.
In the 4A Championships, Olivia Ekpone finished 1st in the 55m dash, with a time of 7.05, setting a new Maryland 4A record. She also finished 2nd in the 300m dash, and anchored the 3rd place 4x200 team and the 4th place 4x400 team.
Also in 4A, Katie Wolf posted a 6th place finish in the 300m dash, and anchored the 3rd place 4x400 team.
In the 1A classification, Jenny Reid finished 1st in the 1600m run with a time of 5:36.62. She also ran on the 1st place 4x800 team, and finished 6th in the 3200m run.
Also in 1A, Olivia Durr finished 3rd in the 55 hurdles, 3rd in the high jump, 8th in the 300m, and ran on the 1st place 4x400 team. Karissa Harris finished 9th in the 55m dash, 7th in the 300m dash, and also ran on the 1st place 4x400 team.
On the boys side in the 2A classification, Avery Graham took 1st in the 55m dash (6.49) and 1st in the shot put (50'), while Petros Bein took 2nd in the 55m hurdles.

Titans Win 15 Medals at AAU Junior Olympics
Maryland Titan Olivia Ekponé brought home the gold medal in both the 100 meter and 200 meter dash competition in the Youth category at the 2007 AAU National Junior Olympics in Knoxville. In addition, the team had two other top-three finshers Bailee Freeman took the silver medal in the sub-youth high jump and Kennedy Knight took the silver in the bantam 400m and the bronze in the bantam 200m. The Titans had a total of nine top-eight finishers overall.
